Iron deficiency in children can be more complex than just plain old lack of iron in the diet.

Why might your child be deficient in iron?

Bacterial overgrowth
Food sensitivities / allergies
Parasites
Effect/ overuse of medication

What to do?

🤍 Book in with a natural health practitioner who will get to the root cause of why your child is deficient in iron

🤍 Increase iron containing foods such as liver and red meat

🤍 Increase absorption of iron containing foods by including,
-whole food vitamin c sources with iron containing foods
-avoiding eating phytates (from unsoaked grains, beans, nuts and seeds) with iron containing foods
-avoiding consuming polyphenols from herbal tea (or coffee for adults) with iron containing foods
-add probiotic strain Lactiplantibacillus plantarum 299v, proven to support iron absorption in the upper small intestine

Needing some little TLC as my hair line is soooo dry with this windy winter weather. Massaging this into my hair line a few nights a week as well as uping my omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. It’s so easy to make, I didn’t measure it out but you need:

- Few sprigs of Rosemary
- Castor oil or any nourishing oil, black seed oil or sweet almond would be lovely too!

Crush rosemary leaves in mortar and pestle to release oils. Very gently double boil (with lid on to trap the medicinal volatile oils) on low heat for 1 hour, turn heat off and leave to cool and macerate for 4 hours with lid still on. Drain into a dropper bottle and use as required.
